(X)爱 – NO LOVE

Like an afterimage, it haunts our periphery vision and wanders through our internal and external states while attaching itself to a familiar site of memory and passing. It is a rendition of a character simply coexisting with hanahaki in their fleeting life.

(X)爱, also known as No Love, is a project based on a manga-related trope called The Hanahaki Disease, which draws upon a popular sub-culture in fandoms. Hanahaki derives from the Japanese language: hana means flower, and hakimasu means to throw up. It is a fictional disease where the victim throws up flower petals when they suffer from unrequited love.
